As consumers get ready to set new records this Halloween — spending more, decorating more and splurging on costumes — one thing is bringing down the vibe: 79% expect prices to be higher this year specifically because of tariffs. The good news is shoppers have a lot of tricks at their fingertips to make sure every dollar counts this spooky season.
Consumers are doing what they can to make sure they get their fill of festive frights, with 70% taking at least one cost-saving measure to ensure a Happy Halloween. The most popular is reusing items from previous years, as consumers don the same costumes and rehang décor, or get creative by revamping old items into something new.

Younger consumers, who are more likely to be celebrating, are most likely to be taking steps to save money — 82% are taking cost-saving measures, more than any other age group. And they’re willing to put in the work, with one-quarter of 18- to 24-year-olds working overtime or taking on additional hours to cover costs.
