NRF has been conducting its annual St. Patrick’s Day survey for more than a decade to see how consumers plan to spend for and celebrate during the popular cultural holiday. More consumers than ever are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in 2024 – 62% plan to celebrate and they expect to spend an average of $44.40.
Consumers plan to spend a record $7.2 billion — or an average of $44.40 per person — on the holiday this year and their top spending categories are food and beverages. More so, a record 62% or 162 million Americans are planning to celebrate.
About the survey: The 2024 survey of 8,724 U.S. adults 18 and older was conducted February 1-6 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 1.1 percentage points.
